Located in the Loire department, about 50 km south of Lyon and a stone’s throw from the Ardèche, our estate is near the village of Maclas, in the hamlet of Peyssonneau. In the early 2000s, young farmer Xavier Mourier decided to settle here and expand the family estate of Pierre Blanche, already located in Chavanay, Saint-Joseph and Condrieu, and became a winemaker in Côte Rôtie.
The first vine was planted in 1990 in Saint-Joseph, in the municipality of Malleval. Since then, the plantations have continued with redevelopment work on fallow land, restructured 80 years after its abandonment, and the restoration of dry stone walls that maintain small terraces on hillsides at more than 40% slope.
Committed to the preservation of biodiversity, we practice a sustainable cultivation and are certified HVE (High Environmental Value). Each terroir, unique, is vinified separately to respect and express all its diversity.
Domaine de Pierre Blanche
At more than 300 meters above sea level, on the foothills of Pilat, our estate offers a natural viewpoint overlooking the Rhone Valley, with an unobstructed view of the Alps, the Vercors and the Oisans.
Today, the Domaine de Pierre Blanche offers wines with the appellations Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and wines with a protected geographical indication in the Rhône Valley.
We welcome you to the Xavier Mourier Estate Cellar, without an appointment from Monday to Saturday, to discover our work and our products.
