Located in the driest area of the Rhone Valley, our estate enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The mistral blows regularly, the sunshine reaches about 2800 hours per year, and the heat accumulated by the stones during the day is returned at night, favoring the maturation of the grapes.
We grow the historical grape varieties of the region: Grenache noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan. The vinification is parceled and takes place in closed vats with reassembly and relieving. Depending on the appellation, age of the vines and the grape varieties, ageing is done in vats, barrels (pieces) or 30 hl casks, to reveal all the richness and diversity of our terroir.

Winegrowers from father to son for 4 generations we have been able to maintain a family structure. In 1965, a partnership was established with Johannes Mourier and passed on to his descendants.
Our vineyard, located at the foot of the lace of Montmirail, has been shaped gradually, plot after plot. The soils, mainly composed of surface rolled pebbles and clay-limestone, are at the origin of the name of our domain.
We produce wines with purple reflections, respecting the traditions of our terroir while integrating the latest techniques of winemaking. Thus, we combine the use of stainless steel tanks and oak barrels to get the best from our products.
Today, the Domaine Les Galets Pourpres offers wines from the appellations Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Rasteau and Sablet.
